Planned Giving & You

Giving creatively to The Mississippi Children's Home Services is a natural outgrowth of your concern for the children and families served by the agency. Our status as a charitable organization with the IRS 501(c)(3) classification allows you to deduct your gifts to the fullest extent of the law. Determining your most advantageous method of giving may include supporting our services through planned giving. While the following descriptions of planned giving allow you to consider options for your support of The Mississippi Children's Home Services, you will want to consult with your own advisors to determine which instrument will be the most beneficial for you.

Ways You Can Give...

Donate

...a cash gift to the Mississippi Children's Home Services helps us meet the immediate needs of the agency as it provides a tax deduction (up to 50% of your adjusted gross income) for you. Your cash gifts are not subject to gift or estate taxes.

Gifts of appreciated stocks and bonds or real estate are tax deductible up to 30% of your adjusted gross income. Making a gift of securities is simple and tax effective. A recent major gift of stock to our agency has enabled us to make dreams realities for those we serve.

Life income gifts...
...allow you to give to the agency and provide income for yourself or your beneficiary through legal agreement between you and The Mississippi Children's Home Services. Your assets continue to earn income for you and frequently result in increased income as well as tax savings.
Life insurance policies...
...confer gifts by naming The Mississippi Children's Home Services as beneficiary and/or owner of a policy or by transferring ownership of an existing policy to the agency.

A bequest in your will...
...is the easiest way to give to The Mississippi Children's Home Services. Throughout our history, bequests have played an integral part in allowing us to expand our services to children and families. Remembering the agency in your will can be done by adding a codicil to your present will or including us in your revocable trust.

“Good Search: You Search, We Benefit”goodsearch
Fans of Mississippi Children’s Home Services can raise money for our agency just by searching the web and shopping on-line. Every time you access Good Search, www.goodsearch.com, a search engine powered by Yahoo!, Mississippi Children’s Home Services receives a donation. We receive a penny for every search that is conducted in our name. If we have a thousand supporters and they search two times a day, Mississippi Children’s Home Services could earn easily over $ 7,300.00 for that year.

When you access Good Search’s Home page, you will see two tool bars, one at the top and one at the bottom. The tool bar at the bottom says “ Who do you search for.” Enter Mississippi Children’s Home Services in that space. Then go to the first tool bar at the top of the page an enter the information you are wishing to search and hit enter. It’s that easy to support your favorite charity.  We invite you to make Good Search your home page on your home or office computer. After all, every penny counts when it comes to our children.
